Welcome to Lyth Pearson Investigations, a trading name of Lyth Pearson Legal Services Ltd. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and our professional services. “Information” – includes any data, materials, documents, or instructions supplied by the Client, or obtained during the course of providing the Services.
“Confidential Information” – refers to all information (in any form) that is disclosed by one party to the other that is marked as confidential or would reasonably be considered confidential in nature.
“Data Protection Legislation” – means the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and any other applicable data protection or privacy laws in force in the United Kingdom.

2. Who We Are
Lyth Pearson Investigations is a professional investigative agency operated by Lyth Pearson Legal Services Ltd. We provide lawful and ethical investigative services to individuals, businesses, and legal professionals.
3. Eligibility
By engaging our services, you confirm that you:
Are at least 18 years old;
Have the legal authority to enter into a binding agreement;
Will only use our services for lawful purposes.
4. Our Services
We are private, independent specialists in safeguarding investigation consultancy, providing professional, impartial investigative services tailored to safeguarding concerns in, but not limited to, Universities and Higher Educational organisational settings.
Our work includes, but is not limited to:
Investigating allegations of misconduct, including student, employee, volunteer, or contractor behaviour;
Conducting safeguarding-related investigations, including concerns involving children or vulnerable adults;
Providing independent support for whistleblowing disclosures and internal complaints;
Offering investigative advice and consultancy to organisations, legal representatives, and partner agencies;
Supporting clients with documentation, analysis, reporting, and evidence-based recommendations.
We operate independently and lawfully, with all services subject to professional standards, ethical codes of conduct, and compliance with relevant safeguarding frameworks and legislation.
Each engagement will be governed by a written agreement, outlining the scope of work, applicable estimation of fees, confidentiality terms, and mutual responsibilities.
We reserve the right to decline or withdraw from any service where continuation would breach legal, safeguarding, or ethical standards.
5. Client Obligations
As a Client, you agree to:
Provide accurate and complete information necessary for the provision of services;
Not instruct or encourage the Company to undertake any unlawful or unethical activity;
Understand that while we use professional diligence, we cannot guarantee any specific outcome or result;
Pay for services in accordance with agreed terms.
6. Confidentiality and Data Protection
We treat all Client information as strictly confidential. We will:
Only use your information to deliver the agreed services;
Store your data securely and limit access to authorised personnel;
Comply with all applicable Data Protection Legislation.
We may disclose information if legally required (e.g., under a court order or statutory obligation).

7. Fees and Payment
Our fees are clearly outlined before any service begins.
A retainer or deposit may be required.
Invoices are payable within [7/14] days unless otherwise agreed.
Late or non-payment may result in additional fees, interest, or legal recovery.
8. Limitation of Liability
We will act with reasonable care, skill, and professionalism in delivering our services. However:
We do not guarantee outcomes or specific results;
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or financial loss;
Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid for the relevant service.

10. Intellectual Property
